Black Inclusion Week
11th to 17th May 2026
Black inclusion in schools isn’t a themed week. It’s a standard.
These resources give schools the structure, evidence base and practical tools to move beyond one-off moments and build Black inclusion into the fabric of everyday teaching, leadership and school culture — for every student, in every subject, all year round.
Why This Matters
What your curriculum says about who belongs
When Black students don’t see themselves reflected meaningfully in the curriculum, it sends a message — about whose stories count and whose history is worth knowing. Curriculum isn’t neutral: it shapes how every student, Black and non-Black, understands the world and their place within it.

Three tools. One complete framework.
A three-step pathway from reflection to action to celebration:
- Reflect — Curriculum Audit Questionnaire (Understand where you are)
- Act — Black Inclusion Intervention Toolkit (Turn insight into structural change)
- Celebrate — My Black Hero Factfile & Discussion Cards (Bring inclusion to life through student voice)

Start anywhere. Build towards everything.
Not every school is starting from the same place. Use these pathways to find the right entry point:
Grounded in what schools are already required to do
This work is already grounded in the legal and inspection frameworks schools operate within:
Ready to go further?
The work doesn’t start with Black Inclusion Week — but it can start here.
These resources are your starting point — not the finish line. Black Inclusion Week 2026 launches at the Houses of Parliament on 11 May. Join the movement, register for events, and make your pledge to deliver real outcomes this year and every year after it.
